Santé Complex is a hypoallergenic formula of rice bran and germ that has been stabilized shortly after milling from non-genetically modified rice from Northern California, in an exclusive non-chemical process without additives. Santé Complex is entirely water soluble and suitable for use in baby bottles and feeding tubes.
About 70% of all food grown on our planet is rice, and it’s estimated that worldwide, more that 60 million metric tons of rice bran is discarded each year because it begins to become rancid about 12 hours after being milled from the rice. Representing only 8% of the total weight and containing more than 70% of the nutrient value of whole rice, the bran appears to be the most diversified and dense nutrient complex known to exist in the food chain.
Santé Complex comes with more than 120 naturally occurring antioxidants In nature. Antioxidants almost never work by themselves. In commercial food preparation, heating, blending with chemicals or other mechanical processing together with exposure to light and oxygen, use up most or all naturally existing protective nutrients in the food. Any surviving antioxidants may be damaged or eliminated altogether in an attempt to increase shelf life, standardize the flavor and color or to “increase the perceived value” of the finished product, leaving it denatured of some of its most valuable nutrients.
Found abundantly in Santé Complex, are non-denatured plant phytosterols (plant fats known as sterols and sterolins). Plant phytosterols have been shown to boost the immune system so effectively they actually stop the decline of T-cells in AIDS patients. Positive effects have also been shown against several cancers, tuberculosis, psoriasis, allergies, lupus and other immune related challenges as well as protection against oxidized cholesterol and the side effects of chemotherapy and radiation. Phytosterols have also been shown to modulate the various functions of lymphocytes called T-1’s or T-cells. Found chiefly in the lymph system of the body, T-cells are the body’s primary form of cell-mediated immunity. They can destroy tumor cells and respond directly against foreign material such as bacteria and viruses. Among their many other uses, phytosterols reduce cholesterol, help protect bone marrow, and are active against inflammation as found in rheumatoid arthritis.
Clinical Evaluation of fiber-free Stabilized Rice Bran in subjects with Diabetes Mellitus:
Selected subjects were individuals with clinically established cases of Diabetes Mellitus (type 1 or 2), male or female, between the ages of 20 and 65 years of age with ideal body weight (+20%) and no diagnosed complications. The subjects were under glycemic control with either oral hypoglycemic agents or insulin therapy, or both. All subjects were on the National Cholesterol Education Program (NCEP) Step-1 diet.
The subjects were initially screened and randomly assigned to the Rice Bran product regimen. Test product was provided to each subject in two equally divided doses of 10 grams each, one taken before breakfast and one taken before dinner in milk/fruit juice/water beverage. The total dosage of 20 grams per day was provided to each subject every day for eight weeks.
The subjects showed a decrease in fasting glucose levels of venous blood analysis of 16% to 19% in Type 1 and 14% to 22% in Type 2 at the end of eight weeks. Data on glycemic parameters suggested that the Rice Bran product had a significant potential as nutritional support in the management and control of blood glucose in diabetes mellitus. The reduction of glycosylated hemoglobin indicated that the consumption of the Rice Bran contributed to increased control of blood glucose. Lipid parameters indicated a reduction of 10% in cholesterol, 16% in LDL cholesterol, 10% in Apo B and 7% in triglycerides for Type 1 and, 12% in cholesterol, 15% in LDL cholesterol, 10% in Apo B and 8% in triglycerides for Type 2.
In an earlier study at the San Diego Center for the Blind reported by a Ph.D., there were positive changes reported in the areas of better blood glucose levels, more energy, better circulation in the extremities and a decrease in numbness due to neuropathy. Several subjects also related changes in vision improvement and lowering of blood pressure. Of particular note, one person reported it stopped her anxiety attacks, another in a lifting of depression, and others in a 20% to 40% reduction in their daily insulin requirement. The average intake was 2 to 6 teaspoons per day.

Santé does not include the entire array of nutrients as Lifestar’s Genesis Restoration Complex does, because the soluble and insoluble fiber has been centrifuged out of the total bran for any specialized application requiring the absence of fiber.
